About Drew Whitting

I am a Navy Intelligence Officer and Operational Planner (O5/Commander). I served in tactical (aviation squadron, ship), numbered fleet, combatant command, Pentagon, and NSW components. Also, I became a Joint operational planner through the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS) at the Naval War College.While in school before the Navy I focused on swimming, competed in a 25K ocean race off CA, qualified for three US National Teams and Olympic Trials, and made the finals at DIV I NCAAs. After swimming, but while still in school, I waited many tables in a few restaurants. I graduated with honors and a bachelor's in mathematics. While in the Navy I completed a Master of Science (MS) in Strategic Intelligence and a Master of Arts (MA) in National Security and Strategic Studies. Between undergrad and the Navy I was a trader at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), in the days of open-outcry trading pits.Shortly after 9/11 I enlisted in the Navy and served as a Hospital Corpsman until I was accepted to Navy Officer Candidate School.After the Navy I would like to build on my experience with operational planning, security management, cybersecurity, mathematics, and military intelligence.
