Background

About Dries Colman

I started my career as a Civil Engineer and worked for over a year as a Project Manager in the construction industry. That experience gave me a solid foundation in managing complex projects, working with deadlines and budgets, and coordinating with different stakeholders. After that, I made the switch to IT & Data at Colruyt Group, where I’ve been active for almost four years. I started as an Analyst and soon after grew into my current role as a Business Architect. In this position I design high-level solutions together with Analysts, Project Managers and project teams, always balancing business needs, technical possibilities and timelines. My projects are diverse — from integrating AI into price calculations to supporting a large retail acquisition — and what I like most is that the impact is tangible. It’s motivating to see how colleagues benefit from new applications in their daily work, or even to notice in-store how our solutions directly affect the customer experience. What drives me is the mix of innovation, collaboration and visible impact. I enjoy translating ideas into concrete results, bringing structure to complexity, and keeping stakeholders aligned. Along the way, I’ve also been able to follow trainings that strengthen both my technical and soft skills — for example around communication and feedback.Colleagues describe me as approachable, motivated and eager to learn. I value teamwork, open dialogue and a healthy work-life balance, and I believe that’s also what makes Colruyt Group a great environment to grow in.
