About Dulce Avelar

I have spent the majority of my high school years surrounded health related courses such as taking a specific course on phlebotomy which allowed me to get certified. I was also granted the opportunity to shadow nurses at Hugely Hospital which allowed me to experience and adapt into the medical environment. Volunteering for my church and youth organization happens on a regular basis. Initiated into a vacation bible school club for my church and am a member in our church youth group. Nominated be a part of the National Honor Society for my school where we volunteer frequently for our community. I have helped at the Crowley House of Hope. I am a part of an organization named the Federacion Zacatecana where we host many events such as reuniting families from Mexico. Through that organization I have become a leader in the aspect of being a tourist ambassador. I am planning to pursue a career in pediatrics so I can one day help those who are most vulnerable. I am currently taking numerous courses that have been able to lead me a step closer towards my future. I plan on continuing to volunteer and teach the kids at my church to get more experience on being around infants, children and adolescents just as pediatricians do. I am currently a freshman at the University of North Texas. I am graduating in 2023 and plan on attending medical school to get my doctorates and work in health care. I am currently looking for any opportunity to intern with any medical related jobs to better my understanding of the career I plan on entering.
