BSc LLM FRICS. Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Quantum Expert Witness. I am a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Practising Member of the Academy of Experts, and a Member of the Society of Construction Law. I hold an LLM (Master of Laws) degree in Construction Law and Practice, I have passed the Bond Solon Witness Accreditation Course, and I have NEC3 and NEC4 ECC Project Manager Accreditation. I am recognised in Who's Who Legal in the Construction Expert Witness and Consulting Experts categories. I have over 30 years' experience in the construction industry working for major consultancies and national and international contractors as quantity surveyor, project manager and employer's agent. Since 2008 I have specialised in dispute resolution, dispute avoidance, and cost management on projects of up to £900 million. I have been appointed as named quantum expert on more than 30 occasions, and I have been cross-examined in court and in alternative dispute resolution. I have particular expertise in the commercial, housebuilding, retail and leisure sectors. Standard forms of contract I have used are JCT, NEC3, FIDIC, PPC Partnering Contracts and IChemE. My commercial management experience includes helping contractors to develop their cost monitoring and control strategy, providing advice about forming teams of quantity surveyors and project managers, defining roles, and linking cost management to the accounting practices of the business. For various large projects I have been involved with the pre-contract drafting of terms and conditions, overseeing the work of teams of up to ten quantity surveyors and planners for projects that are on site, dealing with variations and settling final accounts.
