About Dustin Bailey

I have so many interests and experience in an array of fields but I'm always surprised at how the skills I've learned become useful in a completely new position. Here are just a few examples: 1) Being a genetics researcher, organization and learning computer coding languages are skills that you need to master. With these skills, I was able to build a website for my small business and troubleshoot almost any computer problem. 2) As a saute chef, mise en place is of utmost importance if you are going to cook through a busy Friday night dinner rush. Being prepared and organized like a chef is one of the more useful skillsets in everyday life. Not only will it make you a great Thanksgiving cook at home, writing becomes easier, and it is easier to deal with the hurdles of running a small business.#3) Plant genetics and biology have taught me how to understand plants and their requirements which has been immensely helpful in my journey to bring back Boulder Heirloom Apple Trees. The local food movement is something I've been very passionate about and having these skill sets have helped me market the food even more. Few people will buy a Knobbed Russet apple until I teach you how to cook with it and when it is best to eat. I have a lot of passions and interests but this has led to a tremendous amount of experience and a varied skill set.
