About Dustin Kass

I am a second year student in the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at Elgin Community College. In that time, I have completed two clinical rotations; one at an outpatient facility and one at an inpatient rehab/skilled nursing facility (SNF). Both of those clinical rotations furthered my love for the physical therapy profession. I have always been a very active person and involved in many different sports. That led me to love human movement sciences and human health for as long as I can remember. While I have been in the customer service industry since I entered the workforce, it has connected me to the physical therapy world in many ways. Working in the pharmacy and as a manager at Walgreens has allowed me to realize I want to help people heal naturally instead of only relying on medication. Being in the pharmaceutical retail world and in the personal training profession has also encouraged me to want to help people on their health and wellness journeys. That is when I found the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Elgin Community College. The program has given me the skills necessary to achieve that dream of having a job that allows me to help people heal from injuries, health conditions, and improve their well-being. It has been rewarding to see patient reactions when they have accomplished a physical therapy goal because of the care I have been able to provide to them. This career is one that I know I belong in and I cannot wait to help many people improve their quality of life every day. For that reason, I am seeking a full time position for a physical therapist assistant.
