Family/Veteran owned and operated restaurant located in Cincinnati Ohio. Hometown is Bellamy Alabama. Serve in the US Navy from 1989-1992. In 1993, enrolled in Solano Jr College located in Suisun CA to pursue a degree In Fire Science Technology. While earning my degree, I played football to stay in shape. I became Jr College All American playing football at Solano Jr College. In 1995, I earned my associate degree in Fire Science and landed a football Scholarship at the University Of Cincinnati. In 1998 in earned my bachelor degree from the University Of Cincinnati in Fire & Safety Engineering. In I began my career as a Fire Fighter for The Middletown Division Of Fire located in Middletown Ohio. I really enjoyed working at the Fire Department but had passion for cooking food also. Since I was a small child, I loved helping my mom make food. Never wanted a restaurant, but after cooking at the fire house, my passion grew about doing my on thing. Fellow fire fighter's spouses came to fire house and ate dinner with us sometime and love the way I cooked. Just by word of mouth, I began catering in 2001. Birthday party here, graduation there, anniversary everywhere. In 2004 I decided to find a brick & mortar to fix up. Most restaurant fail because rent/lease is so expensive. I wanted something I could buy and fix up. In 2005 I purchased a small building on Harrison Ave. Took 2 years to fix it up. Yes, I did all the work myself. Everything was paid off before I even open up the establishment. Alabama Que was launched in that location in 2007. In the beginning, the establish only opened on the weekends. Business was ok, but location wasn't. 2010 I begin running Alabama Que full time. I was all in at this point. No longer working at the Fire Department, I had to do what it do! Knowing I had a great product, but bad location. In 2011, I found a better location on Short Vine by UC. Yelp, one block from the University Of Cincinnati. In same school that brought me to Cincinnati, Ohio. In May of 2012, I launched Alabama Que at 2733 ShortVine St Cincinnati Ohio 45219. Business/Product so good I bought the location in 2015. I didn't find a better location, I got a great location. Can't no one kick me out or change my rent/lease. I owned the building. Didn't know I was poor until I got older. When I say God is Good! God Is Good. A country boy, youngest of 9 kids, up in Cincinnati Ohio doing my thing. The rest is history! Let us cater your next event!
