About Dwight Brooks

As president of Brooks Technical Solutions, I have assisted numerous inventors with taking their idea to fruition and making their dream a reality as well as consult and contract with larger companies to complete time sensitive product development. Let me do the same for you. With more than 20 years of experience in multifaceted engineering environments, my diverse experience includes the design of turbofan jet engines, 20K square foot fabric tension structures and consumer/industrial electronic products. I have expertise in all phases of product development, from concept through full-scale production with responsibilities including ID, Sales/Marketing Support, Functional Specification, Scheduling, Budgeting, CAD Design, Analysis, Procurement, Testing, Certification and Manufacturing. I have authored 10 patents while working for Motorola, Chapman Technologies and Brooks Technical Solutions. As lead Mechanical Staff Development Engineer at Motorola, my team developed the core company product. My product group perfected techniques including Design for Assembly and Manufacturability, Six Sigma Design, Quality Control and Early Supplier Involvement. I became the in-house expert on numerous CAD programs and integrated early prototyping processes using SLA. My contributions were instrumental in bridging the gap between Industrial Design and Product Design by creating techniques that allowed for a smooth and accurate transition from artistic 2D concept to 3D solid model. I also gained expertise in waterproofing techniques and ruggedization. I progressed from consulting engineer to eventually become VP of Mechanical Engineering for Chapman Technologies, a start up formed to develop a family of GPS and cellular personal security products. The product applications included asset tracking, hand held personal security and vehicle mounted telematics. Currently as President of Brooks Technical Solutions, Inc, I have worked on a variety of consumer and industrial products. Products include toys, personal electronics, medical devices, unmanned drone submarine and a small personal security device all designed using Solidworks.
