About Dwight Wilkins

I recently wrote, produced, and directed the film, Roman, about a man experiencing an existential crisis. Prior to that, I made the film, Finding America, about an eighteen year old Jamaican young man who arrives in Philadelphia from Jamaica and sees America in a much different light that what he expected. Finding America is currently in post-production. See trailer below. I also completed the music video Black on Black Crime, a song written and performed by Mannie Strong. See the trailer below. My film, Facing the Night, about a 13 year old boy coming of age, was screened in Philadelphia. See the trailer below. Also, I co-produced and directed the feature film, A Rose on Ninth Street, written and produced by Joseph Ruggiero. The trailer is also below. Writer and Director of numerous stage and film projects over the years. I am also a teacher of playwriting, screenwriting, acting, directing, and camera techniques for organizations such as the Big Picture Alliance, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, and InterAct Theatre Company. I have served as Education Director at both Big Picture Alliance and InterAct Theatre Company in Philadelphia. I'm interested in continuing to create powerful, cutting edge and ground breaking works on stage and on the screen, and in supporting other artists who strive to do the same.
