About Dylan Axelrod

Forward-thinker who believes in the art and science of baseball. My background as a “self-made” athlete who reached the major leagues provides me with a uniquely strong blend of physical training education, mental skills, and experiences to connect with players. I am a data-forward thinker who can connect to players on a personal level to deliver complex information that is digestible to them as an individual. The art and science of baseball: Art forms include, judgment through experience, mental skills, relatability, and delivery. Science forms include analytics, biomechanics, pitch design, and strength and conditioning. These are not stand-alone disciplines, to create positive changes to skillsets, there must be a blend between art and science to help players move forward in modern baseball. Creating a new pitch might be as simple as a grip adjustment, or as complex as a new series of plyo drills, weight room adaptation to adjust arm action, mental cues, and understanding to build confidence in the process. I consider this holistic approach to be my specialty.
