About Dylan Cassar
I am an economic sociologist interested in economic life in general and financial markets in particular. My academic background has led me to approach the study of economies and markets from the sociological standpoint, an approach that works towards a wider appreciation of the social in the constitution of markets. My professional experiences reinforced this view, firstly as a researcher within the 'Economics Research and Policy Review' unit of a national development agency, and later on as a social researcher in a central bank - two entities at the interface between the state and markets. My current research investigates the socio-technical processes that shape both global financial markets and central banks' monetary policy.
