About Dylan Hackman

Graduate of The University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Transportation Engineering. At the university, I performed undergraduate research in transportation engineering, contributing to projects such as determining feasibility of the use of alarms in mobile work zones, calibration of the Highway Safety Manual, and designing standards for innovative geometric designs. In the summer of 2014, I did an internship with the Missouri Department of Transportation in the Central Office Design Division. During this time I was able to work with all of the engineers in the division including reviewing plans, estimates, and contracts, observing the interaction between the department, local agencies, and private firms, visiting construction sites for better understanding of the construction process, and gaining valuable knowledge on all aspects of a transportation project.As Highway Design Engineer for MoDOT, I am responsible for using design standards and preforming computations necessary to determine highway design features, and prepare detailed construction plans and estimates for highway projects.
