Dylan is a Financial Crimes and Anti-Money Laundering professional with significant experience in working with the AML executive team and strong understanding of how to develop and maintain a robust Global AML program. He has experience in AML investigations, program governance, internal reporting, and high risk client management. Graduating Western University with an Honours Specialization in Criminology and minor in Sociology, Dylan has a keen interest in the social causes, symptoms and impacts of crime and criminality. With the idea of making a positive impact in the community, his career began as an Anti-Money Laundering investigator with RBC’s Financial Intelligence Unit in Toronto where he conducted detailed investigations using internal systems and public sources to prepare concise intelligence reports and recommendations. Dylan transitioned to an AML governance role with RBC’s Global AML Program Management to expand his knowledge of the wider AML landscape. These roles provided the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of money laundering risk, regulatory expectations, AML program structure, mitigating controls and ongoing testing. Dylan understands that financial crime and money laundering enables criminals and criminal organizations, with significant social impacts effecting all Canadians. By complying with regulatory requirements and industry best practices financial institutions play an important role in contributing to the safety and security of Canadians and protecting the integrity of Canada's financial system.
