About Dylan Horne

I’m a recent graduate of Florida State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, magna cum laude. My journey toward medicine has been shaped by a strong foundation in service, leadership, and hands-on clinical experiences. At FSU, I served as Director of Operations for the Medical Response Unit, a student-led emergency response organization with over 130 volunteers. I was also actively involved in public health education, helping certify hundreds of students in emergency bleeding control through Stop the Bleed and GreekSafe initiatives empowering peers with lifesaving skills across campus. In parallel, I conducted neuroscience research at the College of Medicine focused on schizophrenia and neurodevelopmental disorders, gaining experience with protein chemistry, PCR, and mouse models. These projects deepened my curiosity for science and my respect for the human brain. Outside the lab and classroom, I’ve worked to expand my perspective globally, delivering care to underserved communities in Panama through medical brigades and currently shadowing physicians in Greece to better understand international approaches to medicine. I aspire to become a physician with a strong interest in cardiology who blends clinical excellence with empathy, cultural awareness, and a lifelong commitment to service. I’m currently preparing to apply to medical school while seeking new opportunities to grow, lead, and contribute meaningfully to the world around me.
