About Dylan Landry

Hello, My name is Dylan Landry! I am currently the Shock Lab Lead at Sandia National Labs, New Mexico. Ask me about my cats!(They're the real reason I work - gotta put food on the table!) I was recently a mechanical engineering graduate student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) that graduated in Spring of 2015. My main focus of interest in academia pertains to Design and Mechanics of Materials. Previously, my graduate research involved designing a haptic feedback system for CeSim and a robotic feature as well. Apart from my academic lifestyle, I also partook in collegiate level athletics by being the captain of the track and field team. I enjoy taking initiative and leading others. I take pride in my commitment to a cause which all together has led me to this position. Above all else, I strive for perfection in everything I do which leads to many great aspects outside of academia and athletics. In my free time I enjoy applying much of what I have learned in school to my hobbies. I am extremely passionate about designing and creating wonderful devices based off my past experiences as a student. I have designed and built an arcade machine from scratch and am currently working on both a pinball machine and a personal sandcast molding set (complete with furnace and molds). My free time is devoted to pursuing these passions along with other hobbies such as photography, piano, and bouldering.
