About Dylan Pahman

I have worked for the past 13 years at the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion & Liberty, working my way up from research associate to research fellow, from assistant editor of their Journal of Markets & Morality to managing and now executive editor. While at Acton, I have edited books, written two books (one forthcoming), edited their academic journal, lectured at their flagship conference, created and organized their annual academic conference, taught research methods seminars, and written op-eds and essays appearing in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, Public Discourse, Law & Liberty, The Dispatch, and others. In addition, I recently completed my PhD in theology from St. Mary’s University, Twickenham, London, on the basis of my published works on Orthodox Christian social thought (i.e, political economy) and asceticism (i.e, spiritual formation). In total, I have over 40 academic publications, ranging in topic from Orthodox Christian social thought to the Dutch Neo-Calvinist Abraham Kuyper to the Christian socialist F. D. Maurice to methodological questions at the intersection of faith, ethics, and economics. My masters is in historical theology from Calvin Theological Seminary, and my BS is in Bible and theology from Kuyper College. Thus, I can speak and write competently on moral, historical, systematic, or biblical theology in the context of Christian public engagement.
