About E. Danielle Brining

I am an Emergency Medicine physician who thrives in remote and austere environments. My work takes me from major trauma centres to makeshift clinics, mountains to deserts to oceans, endurance events to humanitarian response, Mongolia to Chile to remote islands. I am most fulfilled when serving those in need, including establishing EMS systems in Nepal and India; providing healthcare to refugee, homeless, and underserved communities in North and Central America; and serving on her hospital’s Disaster Preparedness Committee whilst caring for critical COVID-19 patients during the pandemic in New York City. I am currently looking to get involved in more humanitarian and disaster response projects this year. I am also looking for per diem Emergency Medicine positions caring for underserved populations around the world, especially in NYC and New Zealand in 2024. I am passionate about wilderness medicine education for everyone, from the layperson to the experienced medic. I teach medical students and residents as Wilderness Medicine Faculty in Texas, ski patrollers as a Ski Patroller and Ski Patrol Medical Advisor in Vermont, scuba divers as a Dive Physician and Instructor in Bermuda and Honduras, search and rescue technicians and medics in SAR organisations, and first responders as faculty for World Extreme Medicine in the UK. Raised in Bermuda, it’s no surprise that much of my free time is spent in the water and sun – wakeboarding, sailing, or playing tennis. Currently based in London and New York City, I enjoy exploring the streets, trains and travel, swing and tap dance, and the diversity of cultures in the people, food, events, and languages.
