Below is an extended summary of my skills and abilities as a public water system Water Distribution Operator & Inspector: I have a wide knowledge of water distribution. I observe and work on all aspects of water system operation, maintenance and monitoring. I assist in repair, testing and disinfection of water mains. I routinely flush and clean water mains. I aide in keeping water system plans up to date. I can operate and maintain well pumps and hydropneumatic pressure tanks. I am my current water systems sampler which means I collect and transport water samples to ensure the system is safe from bacteria and organisms that may be present in the water. Clean and disinfect storage tanks. Protect equipment and facilities from corrosion and try my hardest to keep them as clean as possible. I’m a neat freak in regards to work. I assist in the monitoring of pump motors to detect unusual noises, vibrations or excessive heat. I adjust and clean pump seals and packing glands and clean mechanical seals if need be. I am able to repair, overhaul pumps, motors, and control valves. Keep records and prepare reports about situations in the field and anything worth noting/ reporting to supervisor. Can perform efficiency tests on pumps, wells and other equipment. Troubleshoot and correct minor electrical and mechanical equipment problems. I have a back for small electronics. Monitor for hazardous atmospheres and confined spaces and correct any problems before entry. I currently have my OSHA 10 certification. I obey and follow safety rules and provide safety training and recommendations to peers. I can detect, troubleshoot, and address water related complaints.Discuss with customers their water-related concerns. I have a natural approach to customer service and love talking to customers. Communicate effectively with owners, employees, customers, regulatory personnel and others. I respond to water system emergencies, and I am capable of being on call and responding in an orderly fashion. I love to work with water meters and technology needed to activate, audit, and diagnose water meters. I keep a clean truck and I think it is important to keep all my tools and products in a neat, orderly fashion. I always try to retain as much knowledge and information as I can. I take classes often and stay on top of my hours requires for me water distribution license.
