About Eamonn Bell

Good morning, afternoon or evening, my name is Eamonn Bell and I am currently studying at Ohio University majoring in Outdoor Education & Recreation with a certification in Ecotourism. Over my years I have had the opportunity to be a swim coach at the high school, club, and summer league levels, through this time I learned the roles of being a professional and a front line manager for professional interaction and communication. As a coach I was tasked with creating a safe and successful environment for all participants. Creating targeted lesson plans for each person allowed them to feel comfortable challenging themselves. Preceding my 3 years as a coach, I took upon the role of an adventure based summer camp counselor, where as a staff member leading week long canoe expeditions was the height of the role. As a guide I was responsible for participant safety, risk management, food itinerary, equipment management as well as education throughout the trip. During these 5 seasons I stepped into my identity as a leader, and used my new found ability to educate interested individuals rather than use it for intimidation.
