I practice commercial litigation, with an emphasis on contractual disputes and business torts including lender liability, banking litigation, and franchise and distributor relations. I have represented national and international clients in the financial services, energy, semiconductor, consumer products, manufacturing, and retailing industries, among others. I also represent employers in wrongful discharge, discrimination, and wage and hour litigation, including government investigations and class actions spanning the gamut of both traditional and emerging claims including overtime, meal and rest breaks, misclassification, and joint employment. I counsel employers on all aspects of day-to-day employment relations, including employment contracts, individual discipline, policies and procedures, reductions in force, training and employee investigations, wage and hour compliance, unfair competition and solicitation, executive non-competes, and termination issues. In 2010 I acted as assistant lead counsel at trial in the Log Cabin Republicans’ successful facial constitutional challenge to the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"​ law and policy, which barred open service by homosexuals in the U.S. armed forces. In the wake of a worldwide injunction issued after trial, Congress repealed the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" statute.
