About Ebony Tuck

I have worked within the disability and mental health sector for most of my working life. Prior to this, I worked in retail. Whilst I didn’t find fulfilment in this field, I was afforded the privilege of time to study, grow and learn about myself. It is within my employment and volunteer work in the community service sector, that I have taken on various roles and continued to grow professionally and personally. I am a believer in doing work that lights you up and I am so grateful that I have found this light within the jobs and opportunities I have experienced thus far. I have a diverse range of lived experience with mental illness, AOD and I live with a TBI. I am committed to utilising these experiences to maximise my capacity to support others. My ‘colourful’ lived experiences provide me with a unique insight into some of the complexities and barriers people can face, which enhances my capacity to ensure an individualised, person centred approach that promotes the best outcomes possible. I have a keen interest in promoting emotional well-being in the workforce and strategising, through meaningful collaboration and education, to minimise the impact of burnout in what can be a very taxing field to work within. I have developed a very eager interest to mentor and lead. I have also gotten very comfortable with projecting my voice to empower conversations that have historically been uncomfortable and subsequently steered clear of. I strive to utilise my voice to affect change from the ground up and in doing so, encourage others to do the same. My personal focus is to continuously work to heal within, so I can fulfil my purpose of offering support, promoting development, healing, growth and empowerment externally.
