About Ebrahim Talaee
As a Senior Research Scientist at Vretta, I work on projects to design engaging e-Assessment and Learning Solutions for Student Success with a particular focus on early learning and elementary school literacy, numeracy and science. With over 12 years of experience in educational research and assessment, I have a strong background in curriculum development, assessment design, item development, item analysis, accessibility testing of items, and data visualization. I am passionate about using the power of AI in assessment to address areas of development that have historically been hard to assess, such as mathematical thinking, linguistic thinking, scientific and engineering thinking. In my recent project, I lead the item development and analysis for a game-based, performance-based, and scenario-based assessment solution that measures and supports students' progress in key areas of knowledge and skills in early mathematics and literacy. I also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of developers, designers, educators, and researchers to ensure the quality, validity, and reliability of the assessment solution. My goal is to create innovative and inclusive e-Assessment and Learning Solutions that empower students to achieve their full potential. As a visiting A/Professor at Toronto Met. University (TMU) I teach a course of Children's Language and Literacy Development, Curriculum Planning, Assessment and Instructional Design for a linguistically rich learning environment in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Other courses include Research Methods, Early Numeracy Development and Assessment in ECE and Elementary Education. Moreover, I am carrying out a research project on the early Math development in English Language Learners, how disciplinary literacy assists ELL in understanding number knowledge, number relations and number operations.
