About Ed Brown

As the Founding Director of the Character Mentoring Institute (CMI), I am proud to lead an organization deeply committed to fostering individual and societal growth through character development. With a solid background in education management and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Education Leadership Policy and Law from Alabama State University, I bring a unique perspective to this role, bridging the gap between education and character building. Under my leadership, CMI has been instrumental in reshaping the way we approach success - shifting focus from solely academic or technical skills to include the crucial elements of character such as self-awareness, emotional management, empathy, effective communication, and conflict resolution. We implement character training across various platforms - from educational settings and corporate environments to family dynamics, aiming to instill a culture of integrity, empathy, and resilience. In addition to my passion for education and character development, I bring skills in nonprofit management, budgeting, coaching, and entrepreneurship to the table. I have a demonstrated history of leading teams and managing resources effectively to achieve organizational goals. I am proficient in Microsoft Word, which I use to develop comprehensive reports and strategic plans. In this ever-changing world, my mission is to guide individuals, communities, and cities towards a more emotionally intelligent and socially competent society through character training. I am eager to connect with other professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact in their communities."
