About Ed Cheveres

Ed Cheveres has worked in the youth development field for the past 14 yrs. He began his work with The City of Berkeley through the Echo Lake camp where he served in various capacities over 4 yrs developing and implementing multiple programs promoting outdoor activities to inner-city youth. Ed then continued his work in a camp setting while employed by the Berkeley YMCA. In 2004 Ed moved to the Chico area to attend college as a Recreation Administration Major. There he quickly got involved in the community and served as a Site Director at multiple school sites for the Chico Area Recreation District’s afterschool programs. In 2006 Ed joined the Boys & Girls Club Team. With the Boys & Girls Club Ed helped to grow, design and create multiple programs and sites. With the Club he originally served as the Senior Teen Advisor for the Paradise Ridge Teen Center as well as a program staff for their then new Juvenile Hall Program. Ed then moved on to create a new Club at the Paradise Intermediate Schools Campus in 2009. Most recently Ed is serving as the Chico Teen Center Director. Ed is a certified trainer for the California School-Age Consortium providing trainings and support to out of school time professionals. Ed also has certificates in “Anger Replacement Training” and “Why Try?” curriculum as a trainer. He has participated in various Boys & Girls Clubs National Trainings including SMART Moves, Keystone, and Career Launch curriculum.
