I have demonstrated expertise in new basin/new play evaluation methods, identifying critical geologic risks, engaging enabling technologies and developing focused business strategies all built on the back of 42 years of worldwide success. Integration of sequence stratigraphy, high tech geophysics and petroleum systems science has resulted in a tremendous "rebound" of activity in North Alaska. Brookian lowstand shelf margin, slope and basin floor fan reservoired oil discoveries may represent the most successful example of integrated seismic sequence stratigraphy and high tech geophysics that I have seen in my career. I am proud to be a part of that and continued exploration and production activity in Alaska. The emergence of the Albian Nanushuk play has brought tremendous attention and interest to North Alaska. Likely volumetrically exceeding the Nanushuk deltaic reservoir play is the Campanian sequence that lies east of the Albian Nanushuk shelf margin extending 50 - 60 kilometers across the central North Slope. The Campanian depositional sequence includes massive basin floor fan complexes, slope apron fans and laterally extensive shelf margin deltaic and shoreface reservoir complexes all tested and proven light oil bearing. Recent detailed reservoir characterization studies illustrate marked similarities between Campanian and Albian sandstones. Importantly, Campanian shelf margin discoveries lie immediately under and adjacent to the Dalton Highway and Trans Alaska Pipeline providing unique access to critical infrastructure. The emergence of the Campanian light oil play coupled with immediate access to critical path development infrastructure may be a game changer for Alaska.Regardless of geologic, geographic or environmental setting, success in the oil and gas industry is fundamentally based on focused science and engineering execution.
