Pharmacist and pharmaceutical scientist, having a key leadership roles for the Lachman Institute for Pharmaceutical Development and the Zeeh Pharmaceutical Experiment Station. Responsibilities include integration and coordination of biopharmaceutical R&D efforts across School of Pharmacy centers and providing laboratory services to enable and support pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical product development at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and also for numerous off-campus clients (start-ups, regional biotech, and established large, medium and small pharmaceutical companies). In addition, the Institute and Station are influential in providing educational programs covering the process and science of drug development. Experience with managing the technical elements of a drug delivery business based on corporate particle engineering capabilities, leading a university collaboration involving nanoparticle formation technologies and applications, and providing pharmaceutics expertise for assessment of emerging business and technology development opportunities. Further experience with scale-up and technology transfer, project management, new technology development, formulation and process development and optimization for dosage form design, and pharmaceutical development management. Specific responsibilities have included leading a formulation and process development group, serving as the chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) team leader for several new product development programs and also participating as a key member of international development strategy and manufacturing strategy teams affiliated with various new chemical entities. Currently serving on the 2020-2025 USP Compounding Expert Committee, previously also served for the 2010-2015 and 2015-2020 review cycles.
