About Ed Gunson

Having started life as a freelance technician in the UK on festivals and in theatres I moved to work with Disney as Show control tech with responsibility for lighting, video, pyro and show automation. After serving 2 years with the mouse I decided to look for adventures new and moved to Dubai. Whilst in Dubai I have worked on everything from government conferences through to small festivals. Initially as a technican, then moving up to be a venue project manager and now as a Technical and Production Manager. My background as an all round tech means I bring a different outlook to production management having been on both sides of the fence. I have experience in a wide range of technology and events and thanks to my brief time in the military bring a unique outlook encompassing the customer service ethos of Disney, the leadership skills of the military and the knowledge of being a multi role technician.Equipment experience:Lighting: MA 2, Hog 2/3, Avolites Classic and Titan, Chamsys, Martin, Varilite and Robe fixtures amongst othersAudio: Yamaha digital mixers, Nexo, L'acoustics, HK and D&B audio systemsVideo: Watchout software, Panasonics and Christie Projectors, variety of LED video wallsPyro: Fireone software and hardware, loading and operation of most pyro types.
