About Ed Hersh

I'm a strategist, consultant and educator who focuses on the intersection of storytelling, development, execution and how to meet the rapidly changing programming demands of the audience in a chaotic media environment. As a veteran media executive, frequent industry speaker, and the founder and Chief Creative Officer of StoryCentric LLC, I advise media networks, content producers, and distributors; my most recent clients include Discovery Communications, WNET/PBS in New York, and a wide range of production companies in the US and Canada. Beginning with 18 years in senior production roles at ABC News, and then as an executive and commissioning editor at A&E, Court TV, and Investigation Discovery, I've also overseen crime and investigation programming for more than 20 years. At StoryCentric, I help clients create and executive their development, production, and storytelling strategies for maximum impact, as well as providing insightful market intelligence. Much of my work is still centered around true crime. I also am pleased to serve on the adjunct faculty of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications, teaching courses and seminars on programming, audience analysis, true crime TV, and the media business.
