About Ed Klopfenstein

My vision is to help small to mid-sized retailers build more business by using e-commerce for sales outside their local geography. Since the housing bubble burst in 2008, I have seen too many retailers fail not due to their error but due to their region's economics. If retailers can learn the simple techniques of how to run an e-commerce store and how to market that store, they can lift their physical store into a dual model that integrates their local value with online efficiency. My business now focuses on e-commerce after specializing in technical support for marketing companies. There, we learned the creative side of tech and how to first build value and follow that value with data and efficiency. My personal background is in writing and software, which makes me ideal for the left/right brain world of web development. I did my BA in Journalism from a great school in Pennsylvania and finished out stringing for newspapers in Taiwan and Japan, then attended the University of Oregon for a Master's in Asian Studies and Business just as the internet was born. I've done web ever since 1995, working for technology companies and translation firms as both a writer and program. For my company, my focus is on my client's sales and how they can leverage the many tools already online and build those into a real solution for real sales. Finally, I'm mongo positive about the world and retail, as long as people play smart.
