Principal Engineer at TechnipFMC in Aberdeen - Currently working as a Principal engineer within the Pipeline Advanced Engineering Research & Development team, in the Rigid Pipelines & Installation Technology group at TechnipFMC UK. Primary workload is the management and delivery of studies and tenders for Electrically-Trace Heated Pipe-in-Pipe (ETH-PiP) systems for worldwide clients in capacity as a technical expert for the technology. Also heavily involved in research and development for the Plastic Lined Pipe (PLP) product group. Recently completed work on an expanded operating range for water injection systems and for the use of PLP in hydrocarbon transport (PLP-HCT). Work is ongoing to extend the qualified range of fluids for the PLP-HCT domain. Experience with Mechanically Lined Pipes (MLP), including the use of pressurised reeling. I spent several years working on the qualification, fabrication, assembly and loadout of the Fenja ETH-PiP which was installed by pressurised reel-lay. Previously I've filled a role as a vessel operations engineer responsible for the day to day running of multiple construction and support vessels in the North Sea. I have experience of working in and managing groups to produce high quality work with extremely tight deadlines. I have a strong mechanical design and dynamics background and bring a project engineering outlook to high technology research and development projects.
