I started my career after graduating from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 1980, going to work for USF & G Insurance Company. Since then I have worked for USF & G (twice), American Fire & Safety, Hartford, American General, Pratt & Associates, PCA Solutions and Midlands. It sounds like I can't keep a job but the majority of my career is split between USF & G and Midlands. The two most influential mentors in my career are James R. Pratt and Phillip W. Hansen. My father was the finest safety professional I have ever worked with. Phil was my first mentor and a close friend. Any successes I have enjoyed in my career are by the Grace of God. The other driving factor in my life is my family, starting with my best friend and wife, Linda.
