Background
About Ed Satell
Ed Satell Founder and CEO of the Satell Institute. A successful entrepreneur, self-made businessperson and generous personal philanthropist who supported, without publicity, a blend of private community institutions, education and self-development organizations consistent with free enterprise values, and the greater good. He believes, models and teaches “think WE, not just me.” He is deeply devoted to developing human capital at all levels. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY In 2016 Ed dedicated a $15 million endowment to establish the Satell Institute (SI), now a fast growing, results-oriented Think and Do Tank for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Working with Business and thought leaders, he has created a Collective Force of Businesses and Private Foundations Partnering with Nonprofits to Serve the Greater Good™. Like Ed, the Institute is dedicated to CSR in action. the Do Tank champions the interdependence of successful business organizations, the well-being of the communities they operate in and the need they have for each other. Ed recognized the inescapable priority for business leaders – to make the community they operate in better - and achieve this by providing vital services to empower financial partnerships between socially responsible corporations and nonprofits. The Institute is nonprofit, nonpartisan and cause agnostic. Due to its endowment, CEO Members and their companies pay no dues or fees of any kind but commit to SI’s key requirement of a minimum contribution of a year for four years with 100% of the funds going directly to a nonprofit of their own choice. SI’s Think Tank provides contemporary commissioned research, educational opportunities, and global resources to help companies understand and maximize their CSR initiatives. The work of the online, searchable Think Tank includes a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), created by a partnership with the University of Pennsylvania for the prestigious MIT-Harvard platform edX. The combination of the Think and Do Tanks creates a truly unique approach to CSR and promoting the greater good through thoughtful, informed action.
