I'm Monocle magazine's Europe Editor at Large, based in Milan, Italy, editing and reporting on Europe for print, online, radio and video. Previously I was Monocle's Americas Editor at Large, covering the Americas from New York City. As a freelance foreign correspondent prior to these roles, I covered Latin America from Buenos Aires. I've worked/written for: The Independent, The Guardian, The Financial Times, The Sunday Times, The New York Times, the BBC, Newsweek, Index on Censorship, New Statesman, CSMonitor, GlobalPost, The Miami Herald and La Nación, among others. I've interviewed everyone from House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and ex-UK foreign secretary David Miliband to former Argentine president Mauricio Macri, Bolivia's former leader Evo Morales and former US ambassador to the UN Samantha Power. I've filed reports and features from countries including Egypt, Haiti, Syria, Ghana, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Ecuador, Lithuania, Romania and Serbia. My radio reports and phone-ins have appeared on the BBC, Monocle 24, Radio France Internationale and Germany's DW. As a correspondent for GRNLive I've worked with CBS and RTE, among others. I've compiled reports for behavioural insights agency Canvas8 and advised advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty. In the public sector, I've worked with the international charity Aldeas Infantiles SOS in Peru and Bolivia as an in-house multimedia journalist. On the books side, I've worked for Rough Guides and Footprint travel guides, as well as Monocle's city guides and other books. I have extensive editing/proof reading experience with Monocle, IPC Media, Diplomat and Condé Nast. I'm also proficient in Photoshop (photo editing), InDesign and Quark (layout), Audition (audio editing) and Final Cut Pro (video). A French, Italian and Spanish speaker, my post-graduate qualifications include sub-editing training at the London College of Communication and the NCTJ’s newspaper journalism fast-track.
