I’m a dedicated and accomplished Chief Credit Officer with over two decades of experience in credit strategy, credit analytics, and credit risk management within the financial services industry. What sets me apart is my unique blend of deep expertise and a passion for fostering growth in those around me. Raised in the Pilsen area of Chicago, my early years were spent assisting my father in renovating rundown buildings. This hands-on experience instilled in me a respect for hard work and the importance of diversifying one’s skill set, values that continue to shape my approach to risk management and leadership today. I’m known for managing complex transactions and portfolios of troubled loans with sensitivity and skill. My expertise includes corporate credit analysis, loan documentation, risk management, and tailored solutions for loan officers and borrowers. During my tenure as a Bank Examiner with the OCC, I honed my expertise in managing a broad spectrum of risks, including credit, liquidity, interest rate, and reputation risks. My certifications in Information Technology (CISA) and Bank Secrecy Act compliance (ACAMS) reflect my commitment to continuous learning and my ability to adapt to an ever-changing regulatory environment. This diverse range of knowledge has been instrumental in my development as a comprehensive risk manager. What inspires me most is the opportunity to build strong relationships and help others succeed. I’ve successfully rehabilitated banks through effective corrective actions, restoring them to profitability by reducing problem loans and correcting violations of law and regulation. My focus is on creating and maintaining robust credit risk management systems that facilitate loan growth and profitability. Outside of work, I enjoy family time, bowling, basketball, fishing, and darts. A Chicago native, I’m passionate about local sports teams, deep-dish pizza, and Portillo’s hot dogs.
