About Ed Wray

Ed is a Principal Consultant and Team Leader within the Intelligent Transport Services (ITS) division of WSP. He has 11 years’ experience working within the intelligent transport and infrastructure sector, gaining significant experience across a wide range of intelligent transport schemes. He has utilised his learning and insight to deliver a variety of roles; spanning operational safety, technical assurance, infrastructure and communication design and project management. Ed has recently become a member of CIHT. Ed has gained an excellent depth of experience within the field of highway operational safety, having worked on multiple commissions for both Highways England’s and the Welsh Governments Traffic Officer Service's. He has extensive knowledge of the working practices, procedures, legislation and policies used by the organisations and their supporting multi-agencies. He has built a high level of knowledge within the field of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), playing key roles in both the designing and testing of multiple CAV ‘Testbeds’, including the A2M2, CITE and Midlands Future Mobility (MFM). This has culminated in him leading the ITS design team through the feasibility, preliminary and detailed design stages of the MFM CAV Testbed. Having achieved the Association of Project Management Introductory Certificate (AMPIC), Ed has become a competent project manager capable of managing the delivery of technical work packages and forming excellent professional relationships with clients. Ed has achieved an accreditation in the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS), allowing him to undertake the lead engineer role whilst conducting site surveys. In 2019, Ed was promoted to team leader for ITS staff based in the south west and Wales.
