I'm a veteran of the War in Afghanistan, where I served in an operations and planning capacity, coordinating complex missions under pressure. That experience shaped the foundation of who I am: loyal, disciplined, adaptable, and relentlessly committed to achieving objectives—no matter the complexity or stakes. My professional journey sits at the intersection of three core disciplines: 1. Analysis & Planning – With 12 years as a professional engineer in the energy and mining sectors, and a decade in the military, I specialize in defining objectives, analyzing constraints and opportunities, and creating structured, risk-aware, executable plans. Operations – I've led troops in the field and managed technical and operational teams at North America’s largest oil sands mine. I thrive where operational planning meets hands-on execution, and I have a demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and master complex, cross-disciplinary topics—from emerging mining technologies to regulatory frameworks and financial modeling. Financial Acumen – As a CFA charterholder, I bring financial acumen to capital decisions. At Barrick, I developed business cases for autonomous mining tech and presented directly to the CFO—aligning innovation with long-term value creation. I excel in non-linear problem solving—taking a mission or business objective and rigorously breaking it down into viable, data-backed courses of action. Whether leading $40M technology initiatives or evaluating mine development strategies, I operate with clarity, decisiveness, and an unwavering commitment to results. Academically, I’ve built a diverse foundation: engineering, political economy, English, and history degrees; an Executive MBA in Finance; and executive certificates in data analytics, negotiation, and real estate development. This blend of technical depth and liberal arts thinking allows me to lead and communicate across disciplines and industries. Outside of work, I’m passionate about college football, military history, and strategic thought—and most importantly, the moral and intellectual development of my kids.
