About Eddie Kingston

I graduated with a Masters degree in Statistics from Oregon State University on March 24, 2023. I also graduated from OSU with a BS in Mathematics with a Statistics option and minors in Actuarial Science, Music, and Statistics in June 2021. My mother, Deanna Kingston, used to be a professor of anthropology at OSU. My work as a graduate teaching assistant included teaching students the basics of the R programming language—how to make simple plots and how to make R and RStudio run t-tests. I used to work as a Nightly Operations Leader at SafeRide, a free late-night program for OSU students. Pre-COVID, It operates from 8:30pm to 1am every day that OSU is in session. It works in a way very similar to Uber; they request a ride and we go to their location and take them where they need to go. It's quite a relaxing job as I get to talk to a lot of people and have interesting conversations with them. Dispatching was easy too as all I had to do is take calls, and we tended to not get all that many each shift. I'm hoping to eventually work as a statistician or data analyst, and I hope to continue learning about data analytics and statistics.
