With over 30 years in healthcare spanning diverse clinical, governance, and leadership roles, I have cultivated advanced skills in communication, leadership, change management, project execution, policy development, and stakeholder engagement. My expertise is underpinned by a Master's in Clinical Nursing from UTAS and certification as a Health Informatician (CHIA) from Australasia.For the past decade, my focus has centred on clinical governance and informing improvement. A pivotal aspect of my work involves addressing the crucial question:"How can we enable the consumer voice to inform and enhance healthcare outcomes?'. In response, I have led initiatives to engage business stakeholders and collaborate with vendors in designing and implementing integrated electronic clinical governance applications and visualising the data for our decision makers. These applications deliver contextualised data tailored to meet the needs of our board, hospital teams, community services, and aged care facilities within our healthcare service.Central to the success of these clinical governance applications has been my role in providing clinical and informatics leadership. I have led efforts to establish standards, business rules, and agreed terminologies, workflows, and practices. By bridging the gap between digital/technology teams and operational stakeholders, we have informed the design, integration, and user acceptance of these applications. Consequently, these systems reinforce our organisational frameworks for clinical governance and assurance while driving continuous improvement initiatives across our institution.
