Edgar Vanags is Co-Founder and Vice-President of Fiber Science. Since the beginning in 1991, he has been instrumental in the design, development, and manufacturing of the company’s production equipment. In 2012, Fiber Science was sold to enable pursuit of other goals and to start Edge Design Services, Inc. Prior to starting Fiber Science, Inc, his career began at Hills, Inc. While there he held positions as Machine Designer and Research and Development Engineer. These responsibilities included equipment design, extrusion process development and machine start ups, both domestic and abroad. With over 35 years experience in synthetic fiber extrusion, Edgar has also provided technical service and consulting to fiber producers. A native of northeast Ohio, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts with Industrial Design concentration from Kent State University in 1977. Edgar and his wife Julie, live in Palm Bay, Florida.
