About Edi Soler

Ph.D.(Hons) in Business Administration (Accounting) from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Executive MBA from IESE Business School, and BSc. in Industrial Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. I am a professor in the Accounting & Control Department at IESE Business School, lecturing in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Control Systems and Analysis of Business Problems (General Management). Besides IESE, I have taught classes and given conferences in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Finance at undergraduate and executive programs in Spain and abroad (I have recently been visiting professor at University of Navarra, Nile University and IEEM Uruguay). My research and academic interests focus on earnings management, cost systems, product and customer profitability, pricing policies, budgeting and management control systems. Co-author of cases and technical notes such as “Accounting for Decision Making”, “Cost Systems”, “Variance Analysis”, “Transfer Pricing” and “Performance Measurement”, among many others. I am also a Financial and Cost Accounting Consultant. I have carried out consulting projects related to cost systems and management control systems, and have interned as financial analyst at a few companies in Spain. More than 10 years of experience in the management of educational institutions, both in Spain and in the UK and over 4 years of experience in the energy supply industry.
