About Edison Lee

Dr. Lee (or better known as Edison) is currently a Senior Lecturer in UKM teaching chemistry subject. His main research is on polymer electrolytes, electrodes, binders, and nano-materials for Lithium-ion batteries (as well as sodium and aluminum batteries) with about 10 years of experience. Current projects (2023): 1. Design and Synthesis solid polymeric-based solid-state battery 2. Design and Synthesis new rubber-based binders 3. Synthesis new vanadium-based sodium cathode. Recycling cathode material via low cost & low energy direct recycling. Hard carbon based anode for sodium batteries. He has wide international exposure in research at Uppsala Universitet, Sweden, Japan Advanced Institute Science and Technology (JAIST), Japan, Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco, and Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology,(GIST), South Korea during my study period. Furthermore, He enjoyed a good relationship with others, including several international colleagues from KAIST (S.Korea), TUAT (Japan), Osaka Univ.(Japan), Univ. Airlangga (Indonesia), Tsukuba univ.(Japan), Sophie Univ.(Japan), Univ. of Trento (Italy). From an academic perspective, he has published a good number of paper journals. He recently published a book entitiled “ Bateri Ion Litium: Zirkonia Dalam Elektrolit Polimer Nanokomposit” in 2020. In addition, he has experience in setting up a battery lab scale (capable of producing pouch cell battery) as well as successfully obtained several funding and grants as main and co-author. Notwithstanding, he has received several awards and honors. The latest is the "Merdeka Award Grant 2018", one of the most prestigious awards in Malaysia. An independent, dynamic, responsible, and self-motivated person with high ambition - to help Malaysia in battery development by building the first sustainable Li-ion battery manufacture battery. Highly interested in working with local and international industries. He is excited to continue to explore this energy storage & renewable energy field. For such, he truly believes that the only way to do great work is to love what you do (quote by late Steve Jobs).
