About Edith Gutierrez

As a Nurse Faculty at Southwest University since January 2024, I educate and mentor the next generation of nurses, using my clinical expertise and academic knowledge. I design and deliver engaging and evidence-based courses, lectures, and workshops. Before joining Southwest University, I worked as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner at LALK MEDICA, PA, for 1.5 years, providing outstanding health care to women across the lifespan. I managed routine and high-risk pregnancies, performed STI screening, treatment, and prevention, counseled patients on contraception and menopause, and addressed their primary care needs. I also served as a Clinical Instructor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso for 8 months, supervising and evaluating nursing students in their clinical rotations. My objective is to promote a healthy lifestyle, prevent disease, and decrease health disparities among women, using my skills, experience, and passion for women's health.
