About Edith Li

In 2022, I participated as a panel guest in an Industry Night hosted by TMU’s Creative Industries program. The main reason, I was told, for my invitation was to show students that a non-linear career path can still lead to great opportunities. By the time I finished listing the chronology of my past roles, the moderator had to put down his microphone so that he could count all the pivots I had taken that ultimately led me to managing a film studio in Toronto. I have loved learning the ins and outs of different industries, their networks, and what makes an organization operate successfully in diverse environments – like building a studio during a pandemic. Each of my pivot challenged me to implement what I knew, learn what I did not, and to trust my instincts. I’m excited to see where the next pivot takes me. P.S.
