About Edmore Munongo

Dr Edmore Munongo, Public health evaluations expert: Current pursuant of PhD in Medical Sociology, holds an MBChB, MBA and MPhil and has more than 20 years of experience as a Public health practitioner with experience in program evaluations and reviews for UN agencies, multilateral agencies and implementing partners in the areas of SRHR, HIV, EPI and adolescence health. Experience include programme capacity assessment and monitoring for different programmes in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Malawi and Lesotho. In particular, Dr Edmore Munongo has experience in Zimbabwe public health delivery through evaluations of the HIV, TB and Malaria programs in Zimbabwe funded by the Global fund. He has a wide experience if Maternal and child health through evaluations and technical expertise provided to the UNFPA and WHO. These evaluations included looking at fund implementation and assessment of funds flow. He has also participated in the Joint Review Mission which looks at the donor supported health care services in Zimbabwe including looking at value for money (VFM). Edmore has extensive evaluation experience of SRHR programs both in the Mid Term and end term. He has carried out an end term evaluation and developed a 5-year implementation plan for MSF in Buhera (2015), Evaluation of the access to FP in 12 selected districts of Botswana (2017-2018 and developed the Botswana FP strategy (2019-2024). Edmore has been the key technical expert for the Global Fund LFA in Zimbabwe since 2013 being a key epidemiologist for in the global fund programme and ensuring deliverables are in line with the investments. He has carried programme capacity assessment for GAVI in Zimbabwe and Lesotho Recently Edmore has led the End term evaluation of the Promoting access to inclusive SRHR and SGBV information and services in Zimbabwe for Plan International. Other assignments are detailed in the CV as attached. Edmore has adequate experience with the UN agencies and has a deep understanding of public health in the developing countries. Dr Munongo is a member of the IPPFI nternational Medical Advisory Panel (IMAP) which is a body of medical scientists and experts in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and other relevant fields with a mandate to formulate and disseminate recommendations to IPPF and other interested parties regarding best practices in SRHR, based on the best available evidence.
