About Edser Apperloo

Hi, I'm Edser! A sociable guy with a passion for Computing Science, Boardgames, and the Piano. Currently, I work at TNO as a research scientist within the Advanced Computing Engineering (ACE) department. Here we solve complex problems within the domain of (federated) cloud computing, adaptive systems, and digital twins. My role as scientist primarily involves working out solutions for the various projects at TNO which often take shape in the form of first time engineering of proof-of-concept solutions. Through my years at the university I have developed an academic mindset with a sharp problem solving methodology. Even though I am taught an abstract and mathematical way of thinking, thanks to my various teaching experiences I am able to properly communicate my reasoning and solutions. In august of 2020, I finished my masters in Computing Science. I graduated with honours (cum laude) and received a 9.5 on my master thesis! Here, I completed the Data Science and Systems Complexity track offered by the University of Groningen. This is where I developed a broad interest and gained experience in Software Engineering, Data Science, Language Engineering, Distributed Computing, DevOps, Information Systems and Machine Learning.
