As Senior Operations Leader (Plant Manager Equivalent) at Dow, I lead the daily operations and operational strategy of the ethylene cracking plant in Tarragona, supervising a team of approximately 100 operations professionals. My priorities are operational excellence, process safety, and cost control to maximise production and efficiency. Over more than a decade in the petrochemical industry, I have progressed from an intern to operations leader: I have driven global reliability and maintenance programmes for the cracking furnace fleet (as a Global Reliability & Maintenance Engineer), managed the migration of control systems (from Mod5 to ABB) in Canada, led furnace recoiling and process improvement projects, and coordinated major shutdowns and turnarounds. My recent achievements include setting the record for consecutive days on-stream at the Tarragona cracker in 2025 through cost and resource optimisation, leading the team during a power blackout that affected all of Spain, and earning the “Cracker of the Year” award in 2023. I am accustomed to working in multicultural environments (I have completed assignments in Canada) and collaborating with operations, engineering, EH & S and suppliers to implement continuous improvements. I I am proficient in project management methodologies, risk analysis and reliability processes, and I’m an advocate of digital tools for data-driven decision-making. I am passionate about team development and training future leaders. I seek to continue advancing into leadership roles in operations, maintenance and operational excellence where I can bring my strategic vision and technical expertise to build safer, more efficient and more profitable plants.
