About Edurne Berra
Since 2007, I lead the “Physiopathology of the Hypoxia signalling pathway” group at CIC bioGUNE. Our main interest is to: 1) decipher the molecular basis of the hypoxia cascade and the crosstalk with other signalling pathways; 2) understand the relationship between these processes and pathologies in which hypoxia is involved such as cancer; 3) generate new therapeutic and diagnostic tools. I have authored more than 50 scientific publications in international journals of the highest impact (Cell, EMBO Journal, PNAS.) that received more than citations and an h-index of 36. My research has been recognized with the Fundación Renal “Iñigo Alvarez de Toledo” Prize (2007), the “Dr Joseph Amalrich” Prize for Excellence in Cancer Research (2002) and the HFSP and EMBO (1998) Fellowships. I am member of the Spanish and the European Hypoxia Network, the Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM), the Spanish Society for Cancer Research (ASEICA) and the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR).
