About Edvards Grasis

As Director and Head of Risk Consulting department in KPMG Latvia I am currently leading services covering regulatory and compliance, financial crime prevention and investigation, AML and sanctions compliance, corporate governance and risk management. My expertise and experience includes-) AML and sanctions compliance including advisory on establishing and improving AML and sanctions risk management internal control systems of banks and non-bank financial sector clients like payment institutions, brokerage companies, P2P platforms, alternative financing providers and other, as well as leading external reviews of established AML and sanctions risk management internal control systems against local regulatory requirements and international better practices-) financial risk management covering credit risk management, modelling and accounting (including IFRS9 requirements), as well as performing independent reviews and providing recommendations for improvement of established ICAAP and ILAAP processes, recovery plans, financial and regulatory reporting processes, and other-) financial crime investigation and prevention engagements for management of local companies, foreign shareholders, lawyers and other stakeholders, as well as preparation of expert witness reports for court-) reviews and consultation on improving corporate governance frameworks, internal controls and risk management frameworks for both public and private entities.
