About Edward Chan

One of my top skills is in artwork design for lifestyle applications, within fashion and home contexts. I spent three years managing the graphics and print designs for the private label brands at ZALORA, a portfolio company of the Global Fashion Group. I was also engaged to design illustrations for print and pattern development for some of Singapore's prominent local brands in their seasonal collections between 2010 and 2018.While I do delight in the details involved in making art, I am also a strategic thinker who operates based on high-level business goals. As part of the research and innovation team at Williams-Sonoma Inc, I have been able to help drive new business development and new vendor exploration in unexplored territories.As an artist, I have been passionate about imparting art-making skills to residents of nursing/rehabilitation homes, in order to contribute to their recovery therapy or raising funds with handmade products for their independent causes. My deep interest in textiles as an art form and its versatility in the lifestyle business, have directed choices that led to my admission into graduate programmes at the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. I was also one of the candidates of the DesignSingapore Scholarship in the final selection process in 2013.
