About Edward Cullen

After finishing secondary education I joined the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers and completed an apprenticeship in engineering, I served 6 years in the Armed Forces developing my engineering knowledge. During my service I learnt to work as part of a diverse team communicating between different units and regiments within the army. After I left the Army I joined Orsted as a Wind Turbine Technician, I completed the Siemens level 4 training, the level 5 course on servicing and the level 7 course on fault finding electro mechanical systems within wind turbine generators. The courses have helped me add valuable knowledge to my technical background. I then progressed in to a supervisory technician role with Orsted at London Array windfarm. This role involved covering deputy operations managers dutys when they were not available, whilst also maintaining a technical role offshore. I then transitioned into the position of Operational Supervisor for London Array LTD. I managed the day to day operation of the wind farm and controled all aspects of the day to day running from marine coordination to document control, as an operational controller under the WTSR. I also directly managed contractors that are involved in the maintenance of the turbines. Once RWE took over the running of the wind farm I moved across to the company and continued to carry out the same role with some added responsibility and focus on analytical tools and reporting. During the transition period I completed a NEBOSH diploma in health and safety. As Operations Supervisor on a wind farm that produces 630MW of renewable energy it was key for me to develop my health and safety knowledge especially with multiple contractors and full time employees working daily on site. I continue to look for ways to develop myself further and I will shortly be starting a course for junior leaders within RWE.
